@Jacobs71: Reid on Nico:" He’s a tremendous blitzer; they didn’t ask him to cover much, so he’ll work on that when he gets here"

@Jacobs71: Reid on Nico:"We’re going to put him at the Mike Linebacker spot and he’ll compete with Akeem."

@Jacobs71: Reid on Commings:"What you see with Sanders is a big, physical press corner (and) safety, he’s done both at Georgia last year and this year"

@Jacobs71: Reid on Commings:"He had two games this year where he played the safety spot. He fits in to what we do in both spots"

@Jacobs71: Reid on Commings:"“We’ll probably try him at free safety and let him work there, see how he picks things up and then we’ll go from there."

@Jacobs71: Reid on Commings:"You know, he’s a great baseball player; he was a centerfielder in baseball, so you know he can track the ball."

@Jacobs71: Reid on Kush:" I would compare him to (Jason) Kelce, the kid I had in Philadelphia because he can get out and pull for you"

@Jacobs71: Reid on Kush:"He can slip to the second level – he has the quickness and athletic ability to do that. He’s a very intelligent and tough kid"

@Jacobs71: Reid on Wilson:" He's a big, tall kid that just has a knack for blocking. He’s also a good catcher of the football"

@Jacobs71: Reid on Wilson:"You can move him up onto a tight end position or a slot position and ask him to block, he’s capable of doing that."

@Jacobs71: Reid on Catapano:"We're going to use as an outside linebacker"

@Jacobs71: Reid on Catapano:"Probably more of what we’ve done with Tamba here in the past, more of a rush, outside backer."

@Jacobs71: Reid on Catapano:"You’re looking at a good, solid football player who’s very solid, very intense, and loves to play the game."

Maybe it will be as designed. At first glance it didn't look so hot on some of those picks.

According to Mayock Nico was the pick all along not Barkley.

I read that. Reid said the same.

People can bash Buffalo all they want for taking Manuel at 16..but honestly I see it as a pretty good pick for the situation he's going into. He's got a solid running game, he's got a receiving core with Stevie Johnson, Robert Woods, and probably the best WR in this draft Da'Rick Rogers. Its a friendly situation for a guy like him if you ask me. He's got a good chance at being successful in Buffalo.

Honestly I wasnt a big fan at our draft at all initially after it was over. Its kind of grown on me after giving it a day to settle though.

Fisher was the best pick obviously. We'll have 2 book end tackles going into next season. Jamaal is gonna have a hell of a year if we keep both of them. No excuses for Mr. Alex Smith either.

I wasnt a big fan of the Kelce pick either at first. We already have Moeaki and Fasano..but with Moeaki having 1 year left on his deal and always being injured it could mean he wont be renewed after this season. Plus ive seen nothing but positives about Kelce so i'll live with it.

Im still not a Davis fan. Physically he's talented no doubt. 230 running a 4.37 is pretty amazing but 2 broken ankles and a poor senior season isnt. He's a boom or bust guy. If Barkley ends up being good, we'll look back at this pick.

Like the Nico Johnson pick. Physical run thumper in the middle.

Commings was a great pick. He's got some ball skills, he's big and physical. Reid plans on using him against TEs which will allow Berry to play center field like he's built to do.

Rest of the draft was kinda bleh. Couple small school guys with potential and a fullback.

Ill trust Dorsey and Reids decisions though. Dorsey never seemed to make any big name spashes in the draft in GB but he always seemed to be able to pull out these no-name guys and plug them into positions immediately.

Davis is like Tyson Jackson. It's a great guy to have, but maybe not where we got him. But then again, has Davis been healthy in college he's more than likely a first round pick.

I think Manuel is the best in this class anyway.

I personally think Geno and Wilson are the best two, and that they also went to two of the teams most likely to set you up for failure.

I liked Geno and Wilson more too but given the situation Manuel is walking into, I could see him being fairly successful. If Geno or Wilson had similar situations I'd say they have great chances too but they both walked into absolute shitholes. I was hoping we'd take a flyer on Bray in the 6th or 7th round but we didnt have to. Extremely glad we picked him up.

by Bill Williamson

"Kansas City: I really am high on Travis Kelce, but the most interesting Chiefs’ pick to me is Knile Davis, who frankly scares me to death. Kansas City needed a bigger back to lessen the strain on Jamaal Charles, and Davis does have size. In fact, he has the best size/speed combination of any running back in this draft -- although he doesn’t play quite as fast as his blazing 40 time. But Davis isn’t real shifty, has massive injury concerns and displays some of the very worst ball security I have ever seen from a draftable running back."

He looked fast to me! The injury issue and the fumbling issue are a concern! Reid needs to go "Remember the Titan" style with him. "You drop a pass or a fumble a ball, and I will break my foot off in your hind parts and then you will run a mile."
