First topic message reminder :

Read this morning we have an 86% chance of having the first overall pick for the first time in franchise history. Odds are Geno is the pick.

I just think that we end up going the veteran route at QB and drafting someone like Aaron Murray later in the draft to develop. Let Albert walk and bring in Joekel to play LT for the next decade or so the dude is a stud and is probably better than Albert now. Albert is not worth what he is going to ask for.

1. A new regime probably wont want to take over another teams garbage QB with the idea of him being a QBOTF. If Alex Smith is acquired, I still expect us to draft either Geno or Tyler Wilson. We assume were only going to go with either a vet or rookie..We can easily go both.

2. Aaron Murray is going back to Georgia for his senior season.

3. What makes you think Albert is going to ask for a ton of money? 0 pro bowls. Back injury last season. Solid play when he's been in there nonetheless but still. Its not like he's Jake Long..a former #1 overall pick with pro bowls on his record just to warrant a bigger contract than what he's worth. Albert is easily affordable, especially with our cap situation.

Like i've said before, drafting Joeckel will be a complete waste of a draft pick. We will have used the top pick to replace a position we already had a solid starter at. What do we do when Joeckel is being a dominate LT and we STILL have no QB play to win games? What do we do when Joeckels deal expires and he expects elite LT money? It just doesnt make any sense to go LT in this draft.

I can understand people thinking Flacco will break the bank, but Albert? There is no reason not to at least franchise him.

At this point, I think its absolutely crucial we bring Bowe back, even if it means for some reason losing Albert. Ultimately, I think Reid gets Albert resigned and Bowe is franchised again until a long term deal is reached. It just blows that the two most important positions that a QB needs are on expiring contracts the offseason were gonna decide to upgrade at QB.

The only way I'd be alright with letting Bowe go would be if we plan on signing Greg Jennings and/or Mike Wallace. We cant go into the season with Baldwin and possibly Breaston being our only receivers. I really hope we keep Breaston and actually play him as well.

I also think we go the veteran QB route. But I also think we still draft a first round QB, second round at minimum... but I'm really hoping its Geno at 1. There's no elite prospects... so theres no reason not to pass on the most important position. Geno Smith may not be Luck or RG3, but other than those two I think hes the best prospect in years.

I hope we draft Geno also. But we do need a veteran presence also. Just don't know who that would be at this point.

For sure need a veteran also. Kolb, Flynn, Smith, Hasselback, or even Vick.

I didnt even know Hasselbeck was a free agent until a few days ago..I honestly see Alex Smith going to New York. Hasselbeck rolled with Reid in GB so im sure its a real possibility. Even as just a backup. Im not against Flynn either, as long as he's strictly a backup. Just cant see Reid going into next season with Stanzi as the only veteran QB on the roster.

New Chiefs coach Andy Reid says he's still "evaluating" Matt Cassel. "I’m going to just let that play out," Reid said when asked about Cassel's future. "We’re too early in the process to know that." We suppose stranger things have happened than the Chiefs deciding no QB is worth the No. 1 pick, and no free agent or trade candidate represents a big enough upgrade on Cassel to make a move. However, the odds remain extremely high Cassel has played his final snap in Kansas City. Cassel has turned the ball over 30 times in his past 18 games.

I think that Hasselback is the best option for this football team as a stop gap QB. Alex Smith is a fine QB. But is he really an elite franchise QB? I dont think so because if he was, he wouldnt of been benched and in trade considerations. I would rather have Hasselback for a year or two and draft our guy, than be stuck with a middle tier type player at QB for the next seven years.

For the most part, its almost a guarantee were going to take a QB in the first 3 rounds. Im assuming Reid is going to want this QB to be his QBOTF. The problem with bringing in Alex Smith in is he expects to be a starter. If we draft Geno and have Alex Smith here, Alex will demand a trade or release because he knows Geno is eventually gonna take over. Itll be a repeat of San Fran and Alex and his agent know it.

I see Alex Smith going to Arizona honestly. Working with Bruce Arians and throwing to Larry Fitz would be a good fit for Alex.

Hasselbeck is at the end of his career. He knew he was eventually going to be replaced by Jake Locker. He knows at this point he's not a teams QBOTF. He's a guy thats there if they need him. We need him. Bring him in on a 2 year deal, let him compete with Geno while teaching him at the same time.

I actually think Quinn isn't a bad stop gap. I could see him coming back before Cassel.

According to DraftInsider.net's Tony Pauline, the Chiefs, Eagles and Jets all "think highly" of Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib. Per Pauline, it's "not out of the question" one of the three trades back into the "late part" of the first round to land the Orange signal caller. The Bills and new coach Doug Marrone are also believed to be keen on Marrone's college quarterback. The QB picture remains murky, but Nassib's chances of going on day one are beginning to look better than 50-50.

Interesting. We'd have to trade up though. Star would be the likely pick if that's our QB, because we have a LT and Joke... Well he's a joke.

CB's don't go #1. Then again Safety's don't go #5 either. Major reach could happen due to new draft scale, but I'd still rather "reach" on a QB.

I agree with QB first. But if they are positive they can get their guy later why not take Milliner or Star #1. But Star might be a harder sell for alot of fans.

No way u take a DE #1 unless your confident he gives u 8 to 10 sacks a year plus anchors the run.

JJ Watt kind of changes the position. That production is unheard of from a 5 tech. Don't draft one unless he is that!

Oh I agree no argument here lol. Just hearing alot about him. At this point I want Geno all the way. But for some reason we don't. I prefer Milliner.

If we don't go QB #1, I'd go Star especially if we don't resign Dorsey AND we cut Jackson. Star-Poe-Jackson would make for a nice DL though.

Geno. Geno. Geno.

Even if Geno isn't Reids guy, there aren't any elite guys this year. Reid can make much less talented QB's look great. Worst case you trot Geno out there for a year, then trade him for a few first round picks or something of that nature and draft your guy. But Geno has the talent to be Reids guy.

Hes a little raw though, which is why I'd expect us to also sign a veteran to start the season. And likely be able to trade that veteran for at least a second rounder.

So you say we should use the 1st pick in the draft to draft a guy who you yourself say is raw and therefore not ready to be an NFL starting QB. To me that is a waste of a good draft pick... the best pick overall at that. A 1st rd pick should be used on a player who can contribute right away... not a raw prospect only drafted because he was the bestQB available in a historically weak QB draft. That is the definition of over reaching for need and no where near BPA. I say dreft Star and sign FA Canty.... especially with Dorsey leaving and Jackson due a fortune.
