If Cassel shits the bed this year, and Pioli plans on bringing him back, idk why Bowe would want to come back. By the time Pioli breaks up with Cassel, Bowe will start going downhill skill wise. We have to take a QB in this upcoming draft, or its really gonna seal our fate for the future.

He will continue to develop over the year, he has everything you want in a QB too. Hes also very clutch at the end of games. All three games he was healthy for last year, he led come from behind drives for the win, making amazing plays... especially against Iowa multiple times.

Week 1 this year against Tulsa, he only completed 71% of his passes(43 attempts), but that's only because most balls were dropped. He only "missed" on three passes, two were deep balls and the other was just a smart play so it wasn't picked.

He will continue to improve, and he has all the physical tools.

where is the game against KU this year? I wouldnt mind the hour drive to Lawrence to watch KU get killed. KU might be the worst D1 football team in the country.

I went to it in Ames last year, so I'm assuming its at KU this year.

Jantz is a real dark horse though. He looks like a QB that can win the Heisman in practice... if he plays all year like he did the first game this year, he will get some looks in the draft.

If he doesn't pan out, he wouldn't be the first... theres a long line of guys with the talent to don't make it.

Last year he showed flashes of greatness. His triple overtime win against Iowa was the best QB performance by any QB in State history. Seneca Wallace was a great college QB in Ames, Sage Rosenfells wasn't bad himself.. and Steele topped any single game by them. He was just inconsistent and I really think it was just because he didn't know the offense or have chemistry with his receivers that weren't that good anyways. He just looked so lost in the offense most of the time.

One week is enough to tell if hes got the mental side down yet, but in one game so far he was nearly flawless. I'll take hitting the WR in both hands 40 out of 43 times, and only being inches away on deep balls as the other misses though.

There has been a lot of QB talent crash and burn for sure. To this day I say Ryan Leaf was the biggest waste of talent ever. I think the talent potential there was elite but not the guys head.

In very limited action, Steele looked like one of the best 4th quarter QB's ever last year! But the other threes quarters he looked like one of the worst. You bring up some very intersting points about him not knowing the offense, he will be interesting to follow for sure!

If we dont make the postseason this year, it goes on nobody else besides Cassel. Not Pioli, not Crennel, not Tyson Jackson, but Cassel.

There's gonna be anywhere from 4-6 QBs available this draft with 1st round talent. Only 1 team desperately needs a QB, and thats Arizona. Every other team as of right now is set at QB believe it or not. I'd say behind Arizona is KC. Cassels contract is up in a couple years..Cassels contract was front loaded so he's gonna be cheap to keep in these last few seasons. If we draft a guy, he can probably take over and Cassel can back him up until Cassels contract is up.

Thats my hope anyways.

Who paid Cassel 60 mil+? Cassel is one of the key players that actually is Piolis. So if Cassel is a failure then Cassel is Piolis mistake.

If KC is so stacked top to bottom Pioli should have had the balls to do what washington did in this years draft.

Pioli's mistake was not firing Haley before he got rid of Weis. He almost corrected that mistake this year, until McDaniels got hired by the Patriots. He may have found a good alternative solution by hiring Daboll who proved to get a lot of of nothing last year with Matt Moore.

Players are made good by their coaching and their supporting cast, players who make the coaches good are far and few between. I'm not going to be an idiot like you, and fault Pioli for not finding a rare player after only a few years on the job.

Drafting Poe is something that makes this roster so stacked, something we wouldn't have been able to do trading up for RG3. And do you have any clue how much it would have taken us to trade up for RG3? We would have had to give up waaay to much.

But the players that the coaching made good here still arent Piolis.

For RGIII we probably would have lost at least 4 1st rounders at the very least. Thats at least 4 potential starters. Not worth it.

I've asked for some examples the last week or so, and you have failed to bring up one. But maybe you can get me an example of this situation? Or maybe multiple since you seem to think its easy.

How many GM's have inherited a bad team, and won the Super Bowl their first three seasons, and without their best players being left over from the old regime?

We would have gave up a lot more than just four first rounders.

Carr, Charles, and DJ didnt make names for themselves right off the bat. It took them a few years too. Quit expecting perfection out of rookies, cause you arent gonna get it.
