Espn

"Kansas City coach Romeo Crennel told reporters Saturday linebacker Derrick Johnson (ankle) should be ready to play and he is hopeful cornerback Brandon Flowers (foot) can possibly play in Week 1 against Atlanta. However, safety Kendrick Lewis (shoulder) is likely not going to be able to play."

"If the Chiefs are looking for a temporary pass-rushing burst with Tamba Hali out for Week 1 with an NFL suspension, they could turn to former Chief Wallace Gilberry. He was cut by Tampa Bay."

Thats good news to hear about Flowers and DJ. I don't get what the hell is wrong with Flowers foot.

We really need Everyone on D and healthy for this game... really sucks we won't have Hali. Houston needs to step up big time, and I wanna see Sheffield in there some too.

This is the single most talented team in te history of the NFL because we have Pioli. Falcons have absolutely no chance. our backups are hall of fame bound. this is what you sound like anyway

"Multiple sources have reported that Derrick Johnson, Kendrick Lewis, Anthony Toribio, and Allen Baily would not be practicing in practice today. While the DJ news can be concerning, Kansas City Star reporter Adam Teicher points out that because of an extra day of practice this week, Johnson still has time."

"The best news regarding who was in or out of practice was the fact that Brandon Flowers would participate. Once again according to Mr. Teicher, Flowers looked like he was moving well during the portion of practice he was able to observe."

Allen Bailey is even more important to have this week with Hali being out... Hali, Houston, Bailey, and Poe are supposed to be our top pass rushers.

I think we will find out this week just how good our backups are.

Hopefully DJ is ready to go but if not I look forward to seeing what Siler can do. He had some hype coming in from San Diego. Hopefully Flowers can go, not having him or Brown either one would suck! I wonder what is wrong with Bailey?

I hope they can all go obviously but, sounds like Lewis has no chance of being ready at all. Elam or someone else can step up there. I think Sheffield could really help us with our pass rush against ATL.

I was kinda hopin Sheffield would show enough promise to get the start. I like Jones though. Studebaker gives us no pass rush.

At least we have Houston, a few years ago we had no pass rusher in this situation. I think Sheffield will get on the field, and end up stealing snaps the second half.

Can KC beat Atlanta? Yes but only if they have like 40 minutes+ TOP. Have to move the chains and match Atlantas quick scoring drives with long ones of our own. Julio is gonna eat Routt up.

I think we would beat Atlanta with Hali, but this is one of the worst possible games to lose him for. Houston really has to step up this year which he has the ability to do. But we are also going to need a few other guys getting pressure. If Poe can collapse the pocket like KC has never had a NT do, Jackson and Dorsey will see huge jumps in production.

It does seem to be a bad matchup right now but I think Cassels inability to throw the ball more than 5 yards could help us. I dont like Hali missing a game against Atlanta but it is week 1 and crazy things can happen. I say 27-24 KC with us controlling the clock but Julio gets 130 yds and 3 TDs. As much as I hate Pioli I wont pick KC to lose week 1. Succop hits a 50 yarder to win it.

Routt gives up 1 TD at most.

I agree! I don't see Route getting torched a whole lot. It's going to happen b/c it happens with Flowers now and again. You can't defense a perfectly thrown ball. You just hope it doesn't happen in the end zone.

I don't know what to think about this game! I agree with Joel at arrowheadpride.com. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Chiefs win this game by a landslide, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them get their asses kicked in this game due to injuries and suspensions. I guess we have to wait and see how this game unfolds.

Atlanta has never won @ Arrowhead. Chiefs are 3-0. I think its gonna be a dominate rushing performance just like KC. Flashbacks to what was it? 2004? When Holmes and Blaylock both had 4 rush TDs? Now here we are years later with probably the best back combo in the league..
