Who do you think means more to this team? Who gets tagged and resigned?

I really think they will open the vault and resign both! I just cant see it any other way. With these two signed, its not like we have a ton of big money guys left to sign. I would rather see them pay Carr and Bowe big money and then low ball Dorsey. If Dorsey doesn't resign, deal him. Even at that, we have enough money to make these moves and get some guys in FA. We have pretty good talent at alot of positions and dont need a ton of upgrades.

I see no reason whatsoever why people think we won't bring both back.

I think we resign both. Only way we lose one is if Bowe gets crazy wanting top 5 WR money. But I think they both come back. But if I had to pick only one I would want Carr back first. It's easer to find a good WR than a top CB in my opinion.

I dont understand why the hell Pioli didn't do it in season. They likely would have got a discount and not had to worry about FA. Now they will be allowed to test the market and see what kind of money they will fetch. Pioli will have to pay top dollar now.

Teams are put in this situation every year. They are still able to resign players before they actually hit the open market... nothing new, doesn't mean they aren't coming back.

I guess your right! Carr was qouted as saying that he would have resigned during the season for a discount but if it waited till FA that he would want top money. Carr was kinda pissed Pioli wanted him to prove himself, I would have been thinking what more do they want to see if I were Carr.

Patriots were notorious for letting DB's walk instead of paying them. I think Carr would settle for something similar to Flowers though.

Carr isn't walking. Bowe would be the one who is most likely, in which case we could tag him if we wanted to keep him.

I agree, Carr stays. If anyone goes it will be Bowe!

I can't think of a young talent that Pioli has let walk since coming to KC though, I'm actually a little floored that people seem to think Carr and Bowe will be any different. Just blind hate I suppose. I mean I guess Shaun Smith? That's the closest thing to this situation, and we were real close to getting him until another team "backed the truck up" in the final hours before he was about to resign here. Something tells me he kinda wishes he would have stayed too, and that the Titans regret paying him so much.

I cant either but most people are worried about the amount of money its gonna take to resign both of them. They have handed out several big deals already and its the thought of having to do 2 in one year.

This is the very reason we haven't blown money on other teams older free agents. We had our own younger/better ones coming up to take care of. I would have been a lot more worried about losing Charles, Hali, Flowers, and DJ. We didn't. These guys aren't going to be any different.

After a recent conversation with Dwayne Bowe, SI.com's Jim Trotter believes the free agent wants to stay with the Chiefs if the contract is right.
Bowe is likely seeking a deal similar to Santonio Holmes' five-year, $45 million contract. Speculation around Kansas City is that the Chiefs will sign one of Bowe or CB Brandon Carr to a long-term deal and use the franchise tag on the other. Trotter believes the Chiefs are certain to tag Bowe if a deal can't be worked out.

There isn't any way in hell that I would pay Bowe 9 million a year. He isn't worth that kind of money! He makes to many drops when it counts to receive elite money.

Seen somewhere else the Chiefs have the most cap space currently available in the entire league at 63 million.

I honesty don't think Bowe will get tagged. I think he will receive a contract getting paid less than what the tag would give him no matter where he goes. IF anyone were to get tagged I think it would be Carr, but I also think his contract will be the easiest for us to get done.

Won't be popular, but it's insane how good of shape our roster is with so much cap space! The Chiefs have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL and mostly super young!

That's what it was during the season. Players have had contracts expired, so guys like Bowe, Carr, McClain, Orton, and whatever free agents aren't being factored into that.
