PostSubject: Minni and Chiefs   Mon Sep 26, 2011 10:02 pm

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost a starter to a season-ending injury in three consecutive weeks -- TE Tony Moeaki in the final preseason game, S Eric Berry in Week 1 and RB Jamaal Charles in Week 2.

The good news is that it doesn't appear that trend has continued with CB Brandon Flowers, who went down clutching his knee after picking off a QB Philip Rivers pass in yesterday's 20-17 loss to the San Diego Chargers. Kent Babb of the KC Star later reported it was an ankle, not a knee, injury.

The bad news is that Nick Wright of 610 Sports follows it up this morning reporting that Flowers' injury is a high ankle sprain.

A high ankle sprain can cost a player several weeks of action, depending on the severity. As a reference, a high ankle sprain cost Dexter McCluster five weeks of action last year. It could be a couple weeks or it could be more than a month. It just depends on the degree of the sprain and Flowers' ability to come back from it.

It's not a season-ending injury but it's one that will likely cost Flowers some time.

This is a damn fine way to start the week. High Ankle sprain means flowers is gone at least 2 weeks, could very well be up to a month. When are we going to stop losing key players? shit! I guess we will get a look at Jalil Brown in the rotation this week and see if the pre draft hype of him being as good as Jimmy Smith was right.

Almost affraid to play anymore games at this rate. We may not have enough players to play before the season is over.

Flowers might as well rest the rest of the year.

Brandon Flowers running through indy drills at #Chiefs practice. We'll see how they list him later this afternoon.

For those asking, #Chiefs WR Jon Baldwin is expected to play this week.

I typically would say I doubt Baldwin plays much at all, but Haley has picked up several WR's off the street and started them that week.

I thought I heard yesterday he was practicing and catching passes... just wearing a glove. But I'm fine with him sitting out. He might be the player that puts us in a position to beat Minnesota.

But if we lose to Minnesota, and everyone else, we can draft Luck to throw to Baldwin!! Hopefully he gives Thomas Jones more shit.

"Baldwin was listed as a limited participant with a thumb injury for the fifth consecutive practice. Some think Baldwin will be playing on Sunday and others don't. Todd Haley said at Wednesday's press conference that Baldwin "has a little while longer." Does that mean he's a no-go on Sunday? We'll see."

Sounds like hes on the fence! Isnt any need to rush him if hes not ready to go. Its not like we are going anywhere this year.

Chiefs have 6 very winnable games left this season. Minny, Indy, SD, Miami, and the Donks twice. They always manage to give Oakland fits in one of those games. Since 5 out of the 7 are at home, they realisticly can still come out of this season with 5 wins, maybe 6.

Well it was a not a favorable outcome for the suck for luck campaign. Nonetheless it was a damn good win today. The defensive line came out and had another huge game this week. Jackson looked strong out there, he shut down the run, and had several really nice pass rushes into the backfield where he almost got the sack. Jackson had a crucial batted pass on the last drive as well as Gregg on the very next play. Dorsey looked like his usual self. Hali and DJ were gull durn animals today. Hali had 2 sacks and another split second he would have had 2 more. Offensively, Breaston and Bowe had a really nice game, so much for Breastons knees being shot. Cant wait to see Baldwin get in there with those 2. Cant say enough about Brandon Albert today, he shut down the best pass rusher in the game in Jared Allen. Offensive line as a whole had a pretty good day. Go Chiefs!!!

That was freaking awesome! Got to love Haley, get in Cassells ear and tell him how much he was sucking! Cassell had a pretty good game today. He was 18 of 29 for 260 and a TD. Be nice to see that version of Cassell every damn week!
