I'm liking Dingleberry! With the extra bulk and if Jackson lays an egg this year, I think we have a replacement in house.

Sucks if Jackson is the depth and not starter, but either way we are in very good shape on the DL.

Dingleberry? He will be a tremendous find if he is able to develop into a 3-down player.

He does have a point though. Gregg is a solid vet. Pow, Jackson, Gillberry, and Baliey all have huge upside. Jackson wont get cut. But hes next contract isn't going to compare unless he starts making some Pro Bowls here soon.

Again, it was hard to hear but I did hear Haley call Gregg “old man Gregg” and Ryan Lilja “the grey haired guy” but the two that I found the most interesting were Justin Houston and David Mims. He paired Houston with Leonard Pope (a good pairing I thought, both are from Georgia and Pope is a noted good guy). Haley went out of his way to say for all to hear “You’ve got a full time job Pope. This guy doesn’t even know what he doesn’t know yet. He may walk around like he thinks he does, but trust me he doesn’t.” Sounds like the former Bulldog has started out in the dog house.

Quote :
I watched Zorn work with Cassel for a little while. He really does give constant advice and even threw some balls to the receivers with him.

-Its nice that Cassel actually has a QB coach this year.

Quote :
When you see the three KC NTs, Powe clearly looks the most impressive. Based on appearance he looks like he could be the answer at NT for KC……..

Quote :
They started off by doing some kind of drill where there was a partial o-line and three defenders. I keyed in on Powe who was attacking between the G and C (Lilja and Hudson). They did three straight reps and I was really impressed with Powe. He went hard and took both guys on, even driving them back a couple times……

Quote :
I remember hearing some radio host after the loss to Baltimore say that you could just see the physical difference between the Ravens and the Chiefs. He said that the Chiefs just didn’t have many guys that off the field looked physically intimidating like some of the Ravens did. Well I can tell you that these two guys(Bailey and Siller) are pretty intimidating to look at.

In the drills Bailey really showed he has physical talent. Going against some of the 2nd and 3rd string o-line he just physically manhandled them. I watched him on three consecutive snaps just destroy rookie free agent Chris Harr. I mean he just killed him. However, even after plays where I thought he looked good, d-line coach Anthony Pleasant didn’t seem that pleased. On multiple occasions he pulled Bailey out of the drill to go over technique. At one point he had him get in a three point stance and just hold it. After maybe 30 seconds he would walk over and knock Bailey’s arm out from under him and Bailey would fall forward to the turf. He did that like 3-4 times in a row before he finally let Bailey go back and join the others. My overall impression is that Bailey has all the physical tools needed but has a ways to go in terms of the technique the staff wants him to use.

Quote :
Keeping in mind that Glenn Dorsey was riding a stationary bike all day, Jackson was far and away the best d-lineman on the field. I never once saw him take a play off. Even on plays where he was going against first string linemen and didn’t beat them he was still fighting hard, often violently. Maybe it was just a good day. Maybe the other linemen that I had to compare him to aren’t that good, but even when comparing him to guys like Bailey and Gilberry, Tyson looked like the man.

I agree there is some young talent, but most unproven. Gregg wasnt even an every down uy for his team last year. I dont doubt the potential, but it is awful optimistic to call it solid at this moment.

We don't need him to play every down here anyways. Powe is the same way, and will also see snaps. Most NT's are. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't even use a true NT in a lot passing situations anyways.

Daily battle
Jerheme Urban continues to hold a starting spot at wide receiver opposite Dwayne Bowe. Urban is fast and has a reliable set of hands, making him a nice complement to Bowe. The Chiefs drafted Jonathan Baldwin in the first round and signed Breaston as a free agent. Baldwin has been limited in practice because of a sore hamstring. Breaston has been playing mainly when the Chiefs bring in a third receiver.

Zorn was completely fixed on Cassel today. It was as if the other quarterbacks didn't even exist. When Cassel was running the offense, Zorn was talking to him between every play. When Stanzi and Palko were running the offense, Zorn was talking to Cassel alone. I am completely encouraged by the prospect of Cassel taking another step forward this year if today was any indication of the type of focus Zorn is giving to Cassel.

Afterward, Haley and Zorn stood and talked alone and continued to do so long after everyone else had left. They were talking in a very animated manner, and it was clear that Zorn is a very integral part of the coaching staff beyond just being the quarterbacks coach. I was skeptical of all the optimism over his hiring, but I really think he may have been the best offseason acquisition.

Oh, and I got Cassel to sign my jersey, which made me feel like a giddy little boy.

Cassel like it or not is our Franchise Qb. And the Chiefs are going to do everything possible to help him get even better. He took a big step forward last year. And I expect him to do it again this year. My opinion I am glad we have him. And wouldn't take any other over him. Well besides Brady, Manning, or Brees of course lol. He has the tools and the heart. Lets GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't take a great QB to win a Super Bowl. Not Super Bowl winning team had a "great" QB, and not all great QB's have won a Super Bowl. Cassel is still improving. Granted I would have preferred a first round QB that we drafted and had great measurables, but Cassel is still a good prospect. It just sucks that he was already mid/late 20's when we got him. Had he went to a different school, or Matt Leihnart and Carson Palmer not been there, theres a pretty good chance Cassel would have been a high draft pick. The only thing thats hurt his career is he hasn't had enough practice, repetition, and games.

He has a chance to be a SB QB, especially with the direction the team around him is going. He wouldn't have been close to my first pick as our QB, but I'm not going to lie to myself and say he doesn't have a chance. The QB he was when we got him wouldn't have. But he is going to continue to get better whether you like it or not.

Didn't feel like naming eveyone and I would take Cassell over Bradford. But thats my opinion. And who the hell is Matt Fitzpatric. Never heard of him. Cassell can win a superbowl. whether he does or not I have no idea. But I think he is a better QB than Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson who both have Superbowl rings. And rust is right The only thing thats hurt his career is he hasn't had enough practice, repetition, and games. But he is getting thier. Maybe late but he is. Btw way Chiefs09 do you even like the Kansas City Chiefs. I see you put them down more than talk them up. I mean fans put faith in there teams. Thats what they do. We may not all be right, but we give support because we are fans and love them. Not saying I am always right or even right half the time. But I have faith and give support.

Chiefs aren't the best(yet), but they are not nearly as bad as you paint "your" team to be!

I have stated many times Berry was the best Chiefs draft pick EVER. I have said Hali is the Best LB in the league. Charles is the best rb in football. I only Blast T. Jackson, Cassel, Pioli and Hunt. You dont have to like every single thing about your favorite teams, or favorite anything for that matter. I like my job too, but not every day. I am a fan of both Chiefs and Royals. I am not going to sit and say everything either team does is right. I hate both owners with a passion. An owner like M. Cuban would be great for this area. Somebody that might not win every single year, but genuinely gives a shit and will do whatever he thinks it will take to win, no matter the cost. So unlike an irrational fan I try to look at the reality while hoping the team can still win. I would love for Cassel and Jackson to get season ending knee injuries and then win the SB with Stanzi and Bailey. Not that I think they would win that way. I just dont like Cassel or Jackson. Other than those 2 I can honestly say that Berry, Flowers, Charles, and Hali are all in my favorite top 5 players in the entire league with P. Manning.

Jim Zorn says Bill Muir is calling the plays Friday. I'm convinced Zorn
is going to be scolded, and possibly stoned, for letting that out.
