Still putting your money on Houston as a starter?

Never said he was going to start the season starting. I still wouldn't be surprised if hes there by the end of the year. I'm still thinking Sheffield has a good chance.

I can wait til the end of the season to take your money

When he took part in a pass rush/pass protection drill in Saturday's practice, rookie OLB Justin Houston looked very good. He exudes a pass rusher's demeanor. As for the rest of his game, things aren't going so well. "He's lost out there right now," coordinator Romeo Crennel said of Houston. Chiefs RapidReports

WR Dwayne Bowe has had a very good camp, and that continued on Saturday when he caught everything thrown his way by QB Matt Cassel. Most of Bowe's catches have come when he's been in single coverage from CB Brandon Flowers who is KC's best cover corner. Chiefs RapidReports

"I had 15 minutes to get loose and from there we just ran with it," said Manno. "I don't know what happened, something happened and it was good. I got a bunch of bad balls, but dove and caught them."

Chiefs representatives told him they expected him to be quick, but when they told him, "it was one of the best workouts they've ever seen in the last 12 years," his heart started to beat a little faster.

I'm fairly certain that Moeaki participating, even just this little bit, in practice means he's off the PUP list. #Chiefs
Yup, 810 just reported that Moeaki is off PUP and is participating in practice, as well as Baldwin. Dorsey remains on sideline with Taped Quad.

Flowers just dropped INT in 1-on-1 drill. Tried to punt ball in frustration. Haley yells at him that Revis could've caught it. #Chiefs

Dwayne Bowe looks to be in mid-season form. He's catching everything and clearly has a rapport with Cassel.

If Bowe was in midseason form youd be seeing a few balls hit him between the numbers then hitting the ground. Of course youd see the spectacular catches to go along with it.

The lines worked on pass protection/pass rushing during one segement. Two things really stood out. First, Houston flat whipped Barry Richardson. Houston's first rep was a speed rush to the outside. He got his shoulder down and got around Richardson quickly enough that during a game it would have been at least a pressure if not a sack. Richardson was ready for the speed move on their second rep. The problem was Houston went with an outside-in move. Houston got free so quickly that Barry had to take a hop step to keep from falling down. No doubt that one would have resulted in a full speed crush of a sack.

He wasn't as bad last year. Decent chance he will continue getting better since hes still young. How do you feel about Flowers getting raped by Bowe and Baldwin(when he was healthy) all camp so far?

How many sacks did he give up last year?

I love it. since Pioli cant draft a bad player I'm not worried about it. Baldwin is on his way to making Jerry Rice look like a little bitch since Pioli drafted him.

Jackson hasn't lived up to the #3 pick, and 99% chance wont. That doesn't make him bad. Hes going to break out this year, and if he were drafted anywhere besides the top 10 you would love him after this year.

Youre laying the hyperbole (you might need to look that one up) real thick today. Why you all worked up?

While the temperatures in St. Joseph, MO were much milder than the first days of training camp, coach Todd Haley turned up the verbal heat on Monday, riding his players and coaches hard about upping the tempo of practice. "Come on coaches, get moving," Haley shouted at one point. "Move your ass and they will move theirs." Chiefs RapidReports

Call it the play of training camp to date. QB Matt Cassel fired a 20-yard pass to WR Steve Breaston. CB Javier Arenas had great coverage and tipped the ball away. FS Kendrick Lewis was over to help out and he also tipped the ball. Before it fell on the ground, Breaston dove and caught the ball. He then jumped up and ran into the end zone. Chiefs RapidReports

Wallace Gilberry was putting that new look to work today in 1-on-1s...had an incredibly impressive period. nearly unstoppable in the drill.

- The play of the day came on a 30-yard TD pass which Javier Arenas batted near the goal line to Kendrick Lews, who batted the football into Steve Breaston’s hands. Breaston was lying on his back when he caught the pass from Matt Cassel.

- Wallace Gilberry has made news by reporting to camp with a thicker, more impressive physical frame. He put that new look to use in one-on-ones vs. the offensive line. Gilberry was nearly unstoppable during the period.

- The defense had success on several blitzes throughout the day. Most impressive was Demorrio Williams giong through the line untouched on a delayed dog stunt and Justin Houston timing a snap to come off the offensive right edge far too fast for Barry Richardson to handle.

- Branden Albert and Tamba Hali have been matched up in a number of drills lately. It’s become a must-watch competition at camp.

- Dwayne Bowe continued his solid start in St. Joseph with a red zone TD on a fade route over rookie Jalil Brown.

- Brandon Bair batted a pass down at the line of scrimmage during competitive 11-v-11 work.

- Verran Tucker turned in another TD catch in the back corner of the end zone. This toss came from Tyler Palko. Tucker seems to have a knack for catching the ball in that area of the end zone.

- Cory Greenwood picked off Ricky Stanzi to end practice on a “Gotta have it” fourth-and-goal snap from the eight-yard line.

- Tervaris Johnson did not participate in practice. He previously came off the PUP list last Wednesday night and hadn’t missed any additional time until today.

- Jonathan Baldwin and Dwayne Bowe were limited, spending time both on the field and on the bikes.

OLB Tamba Hali ran a nice stunt on the pass rush in the nickel and came free up the middle and was headed like a rocket for Cassel. The Chiefs QB couldn’t help but see him, because he was right in his grill. Hali pulled up just in time.

– From the one-on-one pass protection/pass rush portion of practice – Hali literally made undrafted rookie Butch Lewis look like he was standing still, as he beat him outside and then on the inside rush
Quote:
rookie NT Jerrell Powe is strong; he threw aside G Mike Ingersoll to the ground, all 300 pounds of him.

Zorn was having foam players, pads, footballs, and other things thrown at Cassel today while trying to pass hahaha

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge the sack!

I think McCluster will be more RB, but be most effective catching the ball out of the backfield

I agree. Both positions are getting crowded, but I think he will be more of a third down type back like Charles was his first few years.
